Every (OK, not every) Friday I try to finish something I've started. This week it was the girls' room. We picked up a few items when we were in Ethiopia and they have been hanging out in my closet while I have been...well, that's another story (six kids, you get the picture). Bret went to NY for work and I decided to surprise him by putting together an African Nursery. I did most of the work in the two days he was gone and finished the rest of it today.
Isn't this a beautiful painting? The perfect picture of an Ethiopian mother. I get emotional every time I look at it. (We brought this home from Ethiopia as well as the wooden animal carvings, the picture of a typical farmer's home and the bird mobile).
I made the cheetah print wall hangings out of MDF we had in the garage and fabric. I also sewed the zebra curtains. What was really exciting to me was that it only cost me $29 to finish off the project since all of the supplies I bought were on clearance.
You can see the girls love their room so much they don't want to take the nap they are suppose to be taking. Maybe if I got out of the room they'd go to sleep.

Before and After Pictures--Front of House
A long time ago a friend told me I should be blogging before and after pictures. So, here you go Christine ;)
Our neighbors think we've gone Goth with the black front door. Kind of funny how wierd they think it is. I LOVE it. We got new outside lights, painted the door and our house numbers and got rockers for the porch.

First Day of School
The kids were so excited for school to start!
Some of us (Graham) were a little sad to be left out of the excitement. So all of us who stayed home threw a "first day of school" party.
